Sessions are virtual, by video or phone, and they follow your agenda. You can meet with us once for a single pressing question, or on an ongoing basis through a longer health journey.

Understand your diagnosis & treatment options

You've been given a diagnosis by your doctor. In these sessions we cover what the condition is, what the concepts in your report mean, what each treatment option typically involves, and figure out questions that are worth asking your care team at your next appointment.

Good for

  • A new diagnosis that came with more questions than answers
  • Making sense of test results, specialist letters, or discharge instructions
  • Weighing treatment options and preparing to discuss them with your doctor
  • A second set of ears before an important appointment

Improve family communication & understanding

Illness never happens to just one person. Partners, children, and parents all carry part of it, often with second-hand information and first-hand worry. These sessions bring everyone into the same conversation, so the whole family understands what's happening, what to expect, and how to help, without one person having to translate for everyone else.

Good for

  • Explaining a parent's or partner's condition to the wider family
  • Preparing children (or adult children) for what's ahead
  • Families spread across different cities, since everyone can join the same video call
  • Caregivers who need to understand the medical picture to do their part

How sessions work

  • Sessions happen over video or phone, from wherever you're comfortable, anywhere in Ontario.
  • Some questions need a single hour and some journeys take longer. You can book one session or meet on an ongoing basis.
  • You can invite anyone you want into the conversation.
  • Sessions are private-pay and not covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan). Contact us for current rates and packages before you commit to anything.
We don't diagnose, prescribe, order or interpret tests, or provide medical treatment, and we don't replace your own doctors. If your question needs a clinician's care, we'll say so and help you get there.
